Frequently Asked Questions

We have included several FAQs as submitted by our customers. We hope the answers may assist you if you have the same concerns. Should you have a question that is not listed below, please feel free to use our feedback form and we will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible.

Q: How many records does MInd: The Meetings Index hold?
A: It currently retains 10,000 records. We hope to retain 20,000 future events within a year.

Q: I remember my university library used to subscribe to MInd. Why is the service free now?
A: The advent of the internet convinced us to provide it without charge. Other services such as Mediconf© charge a fee for their information. All event listings in MInd is free.

Q: If my organization is planning an event, will MInd allow for searchers to contact us?
A: Yes. We provide a "form to mail" page to allow the searchers to contact you and to ask any specific questions about your event.

Q: If I will be attending an event not yet listed in MInd, how can I arrange for it to be included?
A: Please refer the organizer of your event to our MInd E-Form page.

Q: If I search the MInd database, do you use cookies to track my searches or identity?
A: We have made it a policy not to use cookies or any immediate means of tracking or identifying a user or their searches. The only exception is unlawful manipulation of our system in which a culprit would be located and dealt with accordingly.

Q: If I am seeking an event or proceedings but they are not included in your database, how can I find them?
A: We are designing our DoPP Alert service. This will allow subscribers to have our system alert them for recently listed proceedings and MInd events since their previous visit.

Q: Will an event listed with MInd automatically result as a listing in DoPP?
A: Not all events listed with MInd have abstracts or papers requirement. Therefore it would be doubtful such an event would have a published proceedings listed with DoPP. However, we anticipate 75% of all MInd listings will result in a listing with DoPP.

Q: Does InterDok sell or share its mailing lists with other organizations?
A: Never! Respecting the privacy of all users, including event contacts is very important to us. When we offer the Form to Mail page at each MInd listing, this protects outside sources from viewing and copying contact email addresses. When we send out occasional notices about our services, this is based on our replying to inquiries that originally requested information.

Q: Do we have to start a subscription to the DoPP in order to use your Acquisitions Service?
A: No. Anyone can use our Acquisitions Service to locate those hard to find titles.
